Sir Samuel Vimes and the Nighwatch are still my favorite character arc in the Discworld series, but every time I re-read the Death and Susan books, I'm reminded how much I love them. " I recently watched the BBC production of Hogfather last week, which made me nostalgic for the book. I've enjoyed every one of the Discworld novels I've read so far, and definitely look forward to picking up more of them. " I so much enjoy Terry Pratchett's sense of humour. Death is definitely my favorite character in all the pratchett books. " Possibly one of Pratchett's best books. " This was a great book to read during the holidays. Pratchett is immensely clever and precise, and his social commentary is magical. " Discworld books have caused me the highest ratio of laughter to word count than any other writing. This time he's carrying a sack instead of a scythe, but there's something regrettably familiar. Worse still, someone is coming down the chimney. And unfortunately her only helpers are a raven with an eyeball fixation, the Death of Rats (the grim squeaker), and an oh god of hangovers. Susan the governess has to find him before morning, otherwise the sun won't rise.

There's snow, there are robins, there are trees covered with decorations, but there's a notable lack of the fat man who delivers the toys.
